I've been a customer for many years when the restaurant was just a dining room with three areas. They always used the best ingredients. The fish has changed recently, and now it’s garnished with pepper. Because of this, you'll find pepper shakers on the tables for anyone who wishes to add more to their meal.
We have eaten in this restaurant several times at different times of the day and various days of the week. We have found that their foods are well prepared and seasoned throughout. We found the staff respectful and friendly. Of course, as a cathouse, we ordered the catfish in the times when we protected this facility. The pages that come automatically with orders are cooked and served. And as far as pricing is concerned, I believe it is in line with the market and remains in business. I don't find their prizes out of the game.
THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT THEIR PRICING DURING DIFFICULT ECONOMIC TIMES IS GOING TO RUN THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. FOR INSTANCE THEIR CHICKEN TENDERS ARE 10.99 FOR 6 TENDERS AND THE PRICE FOR THE SAME THING AT CHEDDARS IS $7.95 AND THEY ARE EXCELLENT. WAKE UP CATFISH HOUSE YOU ARE GOING TO PRICE YOURSELF OUT OF BUSINESS.
In my opinion, the Catfish House is pricing itself into extinction. While other restaurants are offering specials during these tough economic times to attract customers, the Catfish House continues to raise its prices. This approach is going to backfire on them.
The catfish was tasty, although I found it to be a bit too peppery for my liking. I think the price is reasonable considering the amount of food you receive. I didn't realize that ordering anything automatically comes with a bowl of white beans and okra, which was a pleasant surprise. Both were actually quite delicious. If you could reduce the black pepper on the fish, I would definitely return.
