Ba Mien 2 - Spring
Ba Mien 2
Description
A lively Asian-fusion spot on Sawdust blends a build-your-own stir-fry station with solid Vietnamese staples—pho, vermicelli and steaming spring rolls. Portions are generous and sushi is passable; bowls run about $16. Diners praise freshness and variety, but experiences vary: service can be distracted or brusque, spring rolls may be slow, and fish sauce and vegetarian options are inconsistent. Best for casual dinners or takeout when craving interactive stir-fries, though vegetarians and those wanting attentive service should be cautious.

The young man who seated us appeared irritated by our arrival. He told us to find a seat ourselves, then dramatically dropped off the menus and only asked about drinks. After we finished our meals, he lingered nearby, stopping about 10 feet from our table and just staring at us, clearly wanting us to leave. It was my first time visiting, and I won’t be returning. I’m giving it 2 stars solely for the sushi, which was at least decent.
Additionally, the spring rolls (the rice paper kind, not fried) take an unusually long time to prepare and bring to the table compared to other restaurants or even making them at home. The fish sauce is also inconsistent, sometimes spicy and peppery, and other times bland with no pepper at all. It is slightly more expensive than other places, but the food is decent. I've definitely had better meals at a lower price elsewhere, but overall, the food is good. I would recommend opting for takeout rather than dining in.
The vegetables in the make-your-own stir fry appeared a bit stale. It was challenging to find genuine vegetarian options (no fish sauce, etc.). The meat-eaters found it acceptable, but I probably wouldn’t return. Food rating: 3/5.
This place is amazing!!! Every time I go, I am never disappointed. The staff is so friendly and the food is delicious
Went here for the first time to have a birthday lunch with my husband. The wait staff were more preoccupied with their conversations than checking on the customers. We wanted to get an appetizer, but the waiter ran off after giving us our drinks. We decided just to get the stir fry since the waiter never came back up to our table until our food was done to bring it to us, and then ran off again before we could ask for more drinks. Eventually he came back to check on us when we had finished our food and were ready to pay.
