I expected the restaurant to be a little u... read more We went in for lunch since we were in the neighborhood. The restaurant was mostly empty, just a few tables of people. I expected the restaurant to be a little upscale because of reviews I've read, but it was very plain, except for the beautiful expensive art for sale on the walls. The table we were seated at had the top varnish peeling away. Looked terrible, but I didn't ask to move. No biggie. The service was excellent. She was very nice and attentive, answering my questions about the menu. I ordered the French Dip, and it was absolutely delicious. I was surprised it came on toasted bread. I definitely recommend this sandwich. The aju was perfect, not too salty. My side salad was fresh and served with a dill ranch and shaved parmesan. Great salad. My daughter loved her cheese burger and cross cut fries. We will definitely be back. Parking: The small parking lot was completely full, although the restaurant was basically empty. I assume with employees cars. Expect to need to park on the street, if you come for dinner or when it's even a little busy. Kid-friendliness: Kid approved!

It wasn't very busy and I was... read more Downriver Grill has been on my list of must try brunch spots for quite some time so I stopped in after a hike one Sunday morning. It wasn't very busy and I was extremely pleased with my breakfast. The eggs benedict was delicious, although I think I enjoyed the potatoes more! So unique and a totally yummy cheese factor. Also the Mimosa was very tasty! Service at the bar was great and I would definitely come back to try more from the menu.
