What Ralph Wiggims dislikes about Azteca:
We have been coming to the restaurant for many years and the quality has continued to go down hill. The service is usually alright, but food accuracy and overall taste lacks greatly. Dining in person is much better than taking the chance with a take out order. Every time without fail my family and I have ordered a to-go an items is either missing or completely made wrong. The price you pay is not worth the greasy, me... View all feedback.
We've been coming to Azteca for years now and I don't ever remember the food being as bad as it was when we ate there yesterday. Firstly, the salsa was a joke. There was absolutely no flavor or spice in the salsa at all! It was like they grabbed pico de gallo, added some tomato sauce, a *pinch* of pepper, and called it good. The salsa was so terrible we ordered the queso which didn't come out till after our main dishes came! The queso was the only thing with any flavor and spice. It saved the meal for my boyfriend. Our main dishes, chicken fajitas, were around a 2. The rice and beans were so bland. And I've been to other *authentic* Mexican restaurants where the beans and rice are full of flavor. The chicken could have been sautéed a little longer. I'm glad I asked my waitress beforehand if they could sautée my peppers and onions a little extra; if I hadn't, I don't think I would have even eaten my meal. My fajitas were so bland I tried putting salt in it wrong choice! It made it worse. I'm sorry but the food from the chips dip, to our meals, was terrible and shameful. It's made for a bland palette. We paid $59 for 2 fajita meals and a side of queso! (We ordered water, no charge) This was our first time eating here in about 8 months. As I've said, we used to eat here all the time. I don't know if I never noticed the food before, or if they've recently gotten a new chef. Either way, we will not be coming back. Considering all of this, the service wasn't bad and our waitress was very nice.
First, I want to mention that our server was a very kind young woman. However, there was an issue with my relative's meal. She had requested no tomatoes on her taco salad, and the server confirmed this when she placed the order. Unfortunately, the salad arrived with a large clump of tomatoes hidden beneath the lettuce, so my relative had to send it back. An older waitress then came over to ask about the problem. While she was somewhat cool and a bit rude, she explained that all the chicken was cooked with tomatoes, which our server hadn’t realized. My relative asked about a different option, and a quesadilla was ordered. However, this simple quesadilla didn’t arrive for over 20 minutes, well after the rest of us had finished eating. Overall, a straightforward correction ended up taking far too long, and it was quite disappointing.

Jake always takes great care of us and ensures we're happy. The kitchen staff does an excellent job preparing our meals exactly the way we want them!
