Was Chris B at Spilli Bean a mag?
I drove down from Golden to the Spilli Bean May 21 to have breakfast and discovered that in the off season Sharon and Shirley have retired and turned the place over to Nola and Nancy; two more locals with cafe experience. They opened the place a bit early to give me coffee that they had just made and we gabbed. The hours, the menu and the cooking are going to change in details but not spirit. New owners (2 charming ladies), new hours (now open for dinner until 7:00), some menu changes but still great food and everything is home made (try the Texas Barbeque and Tex-Mex specials). Same great location with best views in the valley of the Columbia River,...More

The Spilli Bean has closed after 6 years but two fun ladies have opened up in the same location as "Spilli Station Café". Great Tex-Mex, Texas Barbeque, gluten, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian selections available. All home baked goodies, fantastic soups and great Fratello coffee....More
My husband and I ordered the soup and bread. Both were homemade and delicious. I opted for the chickpea and spinach salad while my husband chose the chicken barley. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. We also enjoyed the cappuccino and latte. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. This restaurant is a hidden gem!
This restaurant is a hidden gem with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and there is a wide variety of coffee drinks, baked goods, and artwork to enjoy. It feels like a special, intimate experience that leaves you feeling loved and cared for. It is definitely worth a visit, and a great place to take a break during your travels. Located overlooking a river with the Rocky Mountains in the background, it is a unique and beautiful spot. Be sure to look for a rock with a message underneath that you'll be glad you found.
