Jake's Northwoods And Banquet Facility

The restaurant is currently closed due to COVID-19.

It was absolutely fantastic; the food and service were both excellent. Unfortunately, I found out that they will be closing at the end of this year due to slow business.

The food was excellent, and the beer was refreshingly cold! This is a fantastic little spot just outside of town!

The food is excellent and reasonably priced, with a good variety to choose from. The staff were wonderful. When we arrived, we noticed they were thoroughly disinfecting all areas, which is definitely a plus.

We were excited to try this restaurant after reading the great reviews online, especially since we had just spent a day hiking. However, upon arrival, we were immediately confronted with a large private gathering—possibly a wedding reception? There were no masks in sight, as guests mingled at the entrance and moved between the banquet room and the restaurant bar. In an effort to distance ourselves from the crowd, we chose a table furthest away from the bar. When the waitress approached our table to give us menus, I noticed she wasn't wearing a mask. I asked her if mask-wearing was a requirement in Sparta, to which she replied no. I then asked her if this was Wisconsin, and she confirmed it. As we looked around, we observed that none of the staff, including the bartender who was interacting with patrons at the bar, were wearing masks either. Feeling uneasy, we decided to leave. If the restaurant doesn't prioritize the health and safety of its guests, I have no reason to trust their food. Wearing a mask is a simple way to help protect others, and state mandates are in place for a reason.
