Wonderful lemon poppy cake, good coffee and soup. Very good mince pie with clotted cream. Menu seems to change seasonally. While it is attached to the Museum of Textile and Fashion the restaurant has direct access to Bermondsey Street and is open sometimes when the museum isn't. Also carries some fresh veg. Pleasant place to sit read a book. View all feedback.
What andreasbdobson doesn't like about Museum Cafe:
Asked for the largest meal on the menu and received a scattering of chopped sausage and potato (around 3 slices of each) with a fried egg on top. We soon realised why the cafe was empty when all of the other restaurants and cafes had queues out of the door. View all feedback.

I came for lunch after a visit to the FTM. What a mistake. The staff ignored me while I waited to ask if I should sit somewhere, so I sat down and continued to be ignored. Finally, my order was taken and when my pancakes arrived, they were the size of my palm and burnt on the bottom. To make matters worse, the coffee was playing Spotify on a free account, so we were bombarded with ads over the speakers (prompting us to click on the banner), as well as very inappropriate music with lyrics about how to have sex all night. The place was full of middle-aged women obviously heading to the museum, so I think they really misjudged their audience, thinking it was a club on a Saturday night. All the customers in the place seemed uncomfortable. I would avoid this cafe in the future.
We stopped in for a quick lunch, drawn in by what seemed like an interesting selection of healthy food. Unfortunately, we found our options to be bland, especially the Scotch Egg. We may come back, a pity really, as this little gem has the potential to be much better.
Rather cramped, but good service and attractive selection of snacks. Convenient for Fashion and Textile Museum.
