What Jackson Y doesn't like about Comptoir Gourmand Cafe:
I was disappointed by the canelés I tried at Borough Market. I was excited to see them piled up nicely and at an affordable price, but unfortunately, they did not meet my expectations. The texture was too doughy, rather than soft and fluffy as I had hoped. What was most disappointing was the lack of a light, crunchy caramelization on the outside. I checked TripAdvisor for casual breakfast spots while in the area. I came across this place and decided to walk down Druid Street to find what appeared to be a closed arch at 98. Luckily, we found a door slightly open in the shuttering. When we entered, we found ourselves in a bakery with people busy baking pastries.
