What Mario Rael doesn't like about Persimmon:
The setting is lovely but the food was awful and very expensive for the serve. The mushroom tortellini consisted of 5 tortellinis, a few slices of mushroom and a sauce, all very bland. Even for lunch this was patheticMy companion ordered a Caesar salad and received 7 leaves of cos lettuce, 3 anchovies slices that appeared to come from a jar, and a smattering of bread croutons. All this cost over $50!Never again View all feedback. What MelbourneOztraveller likes about Persimmon:

read moreThe restaurant at the National Gallery of Victoria offers beautiful garden views and a unique dining experience under the stunning stained glass ceiling created by artist Len French. While the food is generally delicious and the setting is lovely, recent changes to the layout and service have left some diners disappointed. Despite occasional service mishaps, the restaurant remains a hidden gem for those looking for a special dining experience in a picturesque setting. With generous servings and a pleasant atmosphere, diners can enjoy a good meal surrounded by the beauty of the gallery gardens.
