We ordered the red snapper with a baked potato and salad by phone. It was ready in 30 minutes and was excellent. I tried to call in an order for another meal lster in the week and just got a recording. So, I had to go in person and put in the order. Hence the 4 out of 5 star. View all feedback.
What Kathryn Jeurissen doesn't like about Windjammer's Beachfront Cafe:
Advertise their sea food buffet, but there is very limited offerings, under seasoned. Menu items tasted fine, not stellar. The food was not worth the price, there is no question why the dining room was empty. View all feedback.

1st time visit to South Padre Island. First of all, this restaurant is in a hotel. 2 Star hotel at best. If I based my opinion of S.P.I on this place; I'd never come back. Quesadilla served with green peppers when asked to be plain. Asked for a plain cheese burger and got a soggy wet bun plain hamburger. 1/2 dozen of Oysters on the half-shell; death on the half-shell. First oyster I bit into smelled and tasted like poop! They were spoiled....I thought they looked quite flat to be fresh gulf oysters. Spoiled seafood is beyond sickening l...it's deadly. I had to leave. I paid my bill and left. Sorry, beware if you eat here. Found this place on Google and it is not like it's listed on Google.
Visited on our last day of vacation hoping to have a nice relaxing breakfast. The breakfast buffet is just generic hotel food. Charged $19 each adult and our toddlers ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 where also charged. The muffins were dry. My husband's coffee cup had old lipstick on it. The salad looked old. Our omletes where dry and over cooked. The pancakes were ok. If this was a free breakfast included in a hotel stay things could be overlooked, but when we are being charged this much a decent breakfast is expected. The table next to us ordered breakfast off the menu and it looked literally identical to the buffet line. The service was terrible. Our waitress was an older lady who looked extremely stressed and overwhelmed. Will not be coming back. Do not recommend.
The service and atmosphere was awesome however the food quality was very poor . Definitely not worth the $45 per person price plus beverage cost.
For $35 a person for the buffet you’d think they’d have a better selection. Not to mention the dead bug in my salad. Other than that it was good service and decent food. Not worth the price though
