Loverly food well presented in loverly surroundings and a fair price. we had a really enjoyable evening at the George and Dragon just 5 minuets away from our premier inn stay in Banbury. definitely a little gem
Went for a birthday meal as a family of eight. There was a very small menu offered, either a Sunday roast, a burger, or a vegitarian curry. I opted for the roast chicken. The chicken was pink inside so was sent back to the kitchen. When the meal came backthe vegetables were undercooked, the roast potaoes reheated so hard on the outsde and only just warm inside, and the same with the stuffing, hard and dry, so I left most of the meal. I did complain twice to the girls who were serving. My daughter and son paid the bill, if it had been me I would have refused to pay for mine. At £18.00 it should have been of better quality. We won't be going again.
Wonderful ambience; atmospheric; great food; extensive range of drinkables and wonderful hosts in Dave, Nicky, Adam and their team. Nothing is too much trouble and one is always delighted to be at this special place. Congratulations on making a truly great experience to enjoy and undertaken so quickly and with such passion Mr. Seward.
Me and my boyfriend found this pub when searching for things to do and places to go whilst staying at the local Bridge Lake Farm. We booked for Wednesday to go mid week and break up our stay a little. What can I say? They had TARQUINS gin… as a Cornish girl this was wonderful to see! On our arrival we had a drink in the beer garden as we were 40 minutes earlier, the atmosphere was lovely both inside and out. At 17:50 we asked if we could sit at our table with our drinks, within 10 minutes we had ordered starters and mains. I had the salt and pepper squid and my boyfriend had the king prawns to start, for main I had the Dragon Burger and he had the George Burger… the food was OUTSTANDING, the wait was not too long and the staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend The George and Dragon …
Arranged a family get together at this pub after being impressed by their efforts to accommodate what we needed. They provided a complimentary separate room for our party (10 adults, 6 children, a baby and 2 dogs) as we had children and dogs to control. The room was perfect, the food was excellent and the service was very helpful and friendly. I would certainly recommend this pub restaurant and if I visit the area again I will definitely visit again with confidence, knowing that it will be an enjoyable experience.
