Contribute FeedbackNestled in a charming village, this pub offers a mixed dining experience. While some patrons rave about the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, others express disappointment with the food quality, citing reheated dishes and lack of flavor. Service inconsistencies emerge, with some meals forgotten or rushed, leading to dissatisfaction. However, many appreciate the generous portions of traditional fare and commend the staff's attentiveness. The establishment's cleanliness and quaint decor contribute positively to the ambiance, making it a cozy spot for a casual meal. Despite the varying reviews, it remains a beloved local haunt worth visiting.
The owners of the restaurant were unfriendly and unhelpful, the food seemed to have been reheated and lacked flavor. The Sunday roast was bland. The bar staff were accommodating, but it was surprising to see them continue to work there despite the rude and unpleasant behavior of the female manager. It was evident that they must really rely on their jobs.
This country pub with two bars and a dining room offers a decent traditional pub menu with real ales and ciders. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is well-cooked and substantial. The service from the staff is good, and the prices are reasonable. While not fine dining, this pub is a good choice for honest pub grub in the area.
The village pub has a charming atmosphere, but the food was disappointing. Three out of four meals were served to our party for dinner, with mine being missed. The soup was barely warm, the steak baguette was tough and oddly tasted like liver, and the cottage pie was flavorless and clearly reheated in a microwave. It's amusing that the menu mentions potential wait times for home-cooked meals, yet my forgotten dish of steak and kidney suet pudding was rushed out in just five minutes. Overall, not the best dining experience.
Four of us went for dinner as a family get together. Four meals were ordered but only Three appeared, the conscientious girl who took the order disturbed her game of darts to admit that she must have missed an order. I had decided on cottage pie, what a big mistake, no flavour, no texture, I only ate it because I hadn't eaten since breakfast and I was starving. The other two meals were just as bad but they will be getting their own reviews. Never again
Was always my local, being brought up in Wortwell for 18 years. But has now become our local after buying a caravan nearby at Waveney Valley Lakes! Staff friendly, chatty, whilst still being efficient.Good range of beers, and food in generous portions whilst being extremely tasty! Sausage-and-mash and beefburgrs both highly recommended! Looking forward to tasing the other items on the menu!
