What SHA LE KE doesn't like about Strathaven Gift Shop Tea Room:
Just visited for a coffee and ended up with a group of 5 people crushed next to our table. Felt really uncomfortable so had to finish and leave. Too many tables, too close together with no dividers, it’s operating as if there is no pandemic. View all feedback.

We visited for some takeaway coffee on our drive through Strathaven. The service was really quick and the lady with the glasses who served us was really polite and kind. Very reasonably priced as well. Thank you!
1st visit back to this cafe since Covid. It was a fiasco. My husband ordered a cheese pickle sandwich and I ordered a chicken brie and cranberry toastie along with 2 teas. Our teas were brought to the table and then we sat for 30 minutes before our food arrived. The sandwich was cheese and baked beans (not on the menu) and the toastie was chicken and baked beans so we sent them back. After another 3 people came to check what our order should have been we eventually got a cheese and pickle sandwich and a chicken toastie (no brie or cranberry) which was burnt and dry. Nobody asked if our teas were OK after our long wait and they were stone cold. We were not happy. The couple at the next table waited ages for soup and had heard the carry on with our order. When their soup arrived it was also cold so they walked out as they didn't have time to wait. The place is a total shambles. Someone in authority really needs to be there on a Sunday as we had the same experience the last time. If you're only in for a coffee and cake fine but meals are a different story. Sorry but we used to enjoy this place.
Visited this morning with my son for tea and rolls. Upon entry you're greeted by the restaurant cat wandering around the tearoom (nothing against cats but not for me! Waitress then got our drinks wrong and served me with a (very small pot of lukewarm tea with no milk. She told me she'd go and get the milk, a good 5 minutes passed and I then see the waitress coming back from the Scotmid across the street with 3 cartons of milk! We then waited at least another 20 minutes for 2 bacon rolls and a roll on square sausage. Wouldn't mind if the place was rammed but there was only about 6 other people there at most. Just a really disorganised feeling about the place and my son and I both said we'd never go back. PS used the gents but couldn't find a light in the pitch black (think the switch was actually out in the main restaurant and not in the toilet? Take my advice, steer well clear.
We had two bowels of soup here. Price includes bread however does not include a roll. That is 75pence extra and you don’t get the bread. Also a black coffee is dearer than a flat white. Never heard of that anywhere. So needless to say this place sells ordinary food at a dear price. Better places in Strathaven to eat food. Won’t be back.
