I stayed overnight after a fun karaoke night with friends. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely recommend this place to others and plan on returning in the future. View all feedback.
My partner and I were one of the first couples to stay at this B&B last year when they first opened. Unfortunately, I was unable to leave a review earlier as Tripadvisor was only recognizing it as Car Stairs (sic)! The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was an en-suite basin and toilet, although the shower was shared. The noise from the nearby road didn't bother me. There was no evening food available at the B&B during our stay, but the breakfast was excellent. We found dinner in Carnwath on two occasions, and there are also dining options in Lanark. The bar was well-appointed and had a friendly atmosphere with both locals and fellow travelers, who were helpful in recommending whiskies to try. The Industrial Archaeological site in Lanark is definitely worth a visit, with the added bonus of a refreshing walk! One of our main criteria was finding a dog-friendly place, and this B&B met that requirement. It's clear that a lot of effort has been put into this business, and they truly deserve success. As an example of their friendliness and helpfulness, they even returned my favorite hat that I had left behind.

Living in Carstairs, I was excited to try out the new restaurant at the village inn. I was not let down. The meal I had was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. All the dishes are made to order, so they were fresh and flavorful. I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of the food. I am already planning on returning to the restaurant frequently. I highly recommend it. Currently, they are only open 4 days a week but they hope to expand their hours in the future.
Clean room, very small, parking not good and if you want a quiet nights sleep don't stay here, pub is very noisy. customers very noisy.
Meals advertised as£6.95 for two courses till 8.30pm. Not so, offer finishes at 5pm. Frozen chips, and veg. Rooms recently refurbished, that was nice.y
