We had a last minute 1 night stay at O'Reilly's and used their onsite restaurant. Service was excellent and food delicious. Our kids are 5yr 3yr they shared a pizza as plenty we opted for steak and a bottle of recommended red quality and flavour was out of this world. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about O'reilly's Mountain Cafe:
Ate here whilst staying at the retreat, we had pre booked our breakfast but if you haven’t full breakfast will set you back $35 which we thought a bit expensive. There is a good choice but not outstanding. View all feedback.
Here is the breakdown of my experience: I ordered a $24 soup that was substandard and tasted like it could have been $4. The kids' spaghetti and meatballs were gross and not cooked well. I felt bad that my son had to eat some of it. The meatballs were dark black and the spaghetti was clumped together, indicating that it may have been taken from an old batch. The kids' bangers and mash came with no mashed potatoes, and peas were substituted with green beans. I was told that the mashed potatoes were hidden underneath, but after showing that they were missing, the waitress was kind enough to provide a full serving to make up for the mistake. It was disappointing that such a basic element was overlooked.
The setting of the restaurant is stunning and the decor is lovely, however, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food given the high prices. It was evident that either they used low-quality ingredients, the ingredients were not fresh, the kitchen staff were inexperienced, or a combination of all three. I rarely complain but I felt that paying $140 for dinner for two was a complete rip-off. I would recommend visiting the location for its beauty, but I suggest bringing your own food until they make improvements to their kitchen.
The executive chef personally greeted us and the restaurant staff were consistently friendly. The meals were delicious and made with fresh ingredients for both dinner and breakfast. While the café was decent for lunch, we preferred dining in the restaurant.
Nice food but not a large range to choose from. Sometimes can have slower service during peak times.
We ordered the A La Carte dishes Chefs special 2 dishes $68...wtf. Chicken breast was super dry and small and the Taggletelle was equivalent to a food court dish at best. Kids menu $20 was a tiny steak very small soda and 2 scoops of ice cream. Also steak dry cooked to a millimetre of cardboard. Wine and beer $10 on average only small in volume. Talk about taking advantage of a captured audience!!! I thought I was in a ski resort but I was just a short drive from semi civilization. Won't get me again $140 and still hungry!!!
