I walked to The Footprint Cafe in Sawston today for dinner. The cafe is bright and the staff are friendly. I had the chili con carne and tea, which were both good value for money. The cafe was very clean. I would recommend this cafe. View all feedback.
What mosieCambridge doesn't like about Footprints Cafe At Sawston Free Church:
I called in today (7th September) for a coffee after shopping in Sawston. The café itself is lovely and it is nice to be able to sit outside. However, the lady who served me was rather offhand, definitely not service with a smile, and no please or thank you. I visited the cafe today to show my support, as it was my first time since the previous OWL cafe closed down. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing, rating only 3 out of 10. The chips were oven-baked, dry, and tough, with many small, hard, inedible pieces mixed in. The salad seemed like it had been prepared hours in advance, as it was dried out, and two medium-sized spinach leaves had large amounts of black spots, making them inedible. The mozzarella tart was enjoyable, but the balsamic dressing was a bit too thick. While I understand that the chefs are still learning, there should be some form of quality control before the food is served. The selection of cold drinks was limited, with no Diet Coke available. This experience has left me hesitant to return for another meal.
I regularly visit coffee shops and cafes, and this little gem is definitely one of the best. The service is always friendly, the food is fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Keep up the great work!
Really nice welcome and good to be able to sit outside in sunshine. Good menu and a tantalising OAP option that's a snip! Good quality, home baking style, and very inexpensive. Good luck after your reopening, will get our cycling group to stop for refreshments with you. PS Add a Tripadvisor link to the website!
