Top Notch - South Bend

Food is great! They just changed their coffee and it’s terrible!! Everyone in there was complaining.?

Been going here for the last 6 months every Sunday. Most of the varsity A team staff know our drink order by heart. The last five weeks they have hired some new staff. If you don't get served water immediately, you're getting poor service. The last five Sundays have been a nightmare. The last time we went in the server asked for our drink order. Then she asked for our food order. Then she asked for our food order again. Then she asked what we wanted for our drinks. The coffee was lukewarm and full of grounds. When the food was brought out it was almost room temp. I asked for my eggs scrambled well and I guess she forgot to write that down. I asked for a side of salsa and upon looking at the bill she never wrote it down. I asked for fruit instead of hashbrowns and she brought me hashbrowns. We waited longer than usual to have our food brought to us and it was an about 2 hours before closing so they were not busy. The waitress never asked us if we wanted refills. In the past I haven't spoken up and just let it go, this time I spoke to someone about this and we never heard from the manager. They offered to remake my eggs but at that point I declined we had been there long enough. The week before that, I ordered my food with a cup of soup. The waitress specifically asked me do you want a cup or a bowl, I said cup, and she never brought me my soup. Similar issues have occurred in the previous weeks. This new staff is letting food sit to long, no water being given as soon as we sit down, orders constantly missing something or not getting what we asked for, toast coming out cold, butter not even melted. One server even brought out my to-go box and sat it right on top of my bacon that I was still eating. So, if you're planning on eating here make sure you sit in a section where you know your servers have been there a long time.

My husband and I just had a breakfast date and we chose Top Notch, we had never eaten there before. First off, out waiter was the best waiter we have ever had, and the food was so so very good. I got the New York strip and eggs with hassh browns, toast, and a side order of my favorite thing...corned beef hash. The whole meal was so just outstanding.. We will definitely be going back to Top Notch again! Parking: Plenty of room, it's a pretty decent sized parking lot Kid-friendliness: A toddler was a couple booths down from us, and he was having a great time Wheelchair accessibility: We actually helped a lady push her husband out of the double doors. Other than the double doors not having a button to push rhe doors open, the rest of the restaurant is very wheelchair accessible.
