We always stop in Perkins restaurants on our Maryland road trips to the Twin Cities. The 55-plus menu is great with very good food at very affordable prices. Our experience in the Perkins in South Bend was great. Our waiter was friendly and did a wonderful job to serve us to ensure that everything was fine and kept our glasses filled. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Perkins Bakery:
Sam I normally love Perkins, but the visit to this location could have been much better. The server came to our table, was very friendly and got our order put in fairly quickly. Then we waited, and waited and waited even longer. The server didn't come back to our table until the food was delivered. We noticed at least 2 other tables get seated and food delivered before or order was delivered to our table. When the fo... View all feedback.
The server was friendly and very attentive. We were seated quickly and the service was prompt, but not rushed. My food arrived hot and beautifully presented. To my delight, it came with all the extras like hot sauce, ketchup, and jellies without even having to ask. The server was clearly experienced and skilled at their job. Our table was regularly checked on to ensure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. I was very satisfied with my experience and will definitely return when I'm in town again. Rating: Food 5/5, Service 5/5. Service type: Dine-in. Meal type: Breakfast. Average price per person: $10-20.
Lunch at this restaurant was fantastic. The price per person ranged from $10 to $20. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5. I highly recommend trying the Coconut Cream Pie and the Salad.
We dined in for lunch and the price per person was $1–10. The food was delicious, with a rating of 5. The service was exceptional, also receiving a 5 rating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, receiving a 5 as well. We highly recommend trying the Scratch-Made Belgian Waffle Platter and the Pancakes.
However, when I got home, I discovered that the soup I ordered was very small and the container was damaged. The pie I ordered was completely melted and the potatoes had gravy despite us requesting them without. When I called to address these issues, I was told that the soup portion was correct and they could not refund the melted pie since I ordered online. They offered to replace it, but I would have to return to the store. The most concerning part was when my sick boyfriend tried to eat the soup I got for him and the container exploded, making a mess. Not only was the portion small and expensive, but the container was also not sturdy. The only reason I didn't give a 1-star rating is because the muffins were delicious and the young girl who helped me was pleasant. Unfortunately, the older woman I spoke to on the phone was unhelpful and lacked empathy.
I recently dined at this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner and I must say, I was extremely impressed! The portions were generous and the dinner was delicious, with a nice variety of options. My father even mentioned that it was the best Thanksgiving meal he has ever had. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this place, especially during the holiday season.
