I have been a regular at the Crooked Ewe for many years. They recently updated their menu, and I must say, this latest version is their best yet. Not only do they offer a dedicated vegan menu, but they also have a weekend brunch with options that can be made vegan. During my last visit, I tried the vegan chilaquiles with chorizo and the vegan tres leches cake. Although the chilaquiles were different from what my Mexi... View all feedback.
What synsynsyn doesn't like about Crooked Ewe Brewery And Ale House:
Their menu somehow continues to get worse and worse over time. However they always have a decent amount of vegan options. Side note: Brunch menu is much better I recommend if you go trying to go during the hours they serve brunch. Updated from previous review on 2023-07-27 View all feedback.
As reported, the separate vegan menu is no longer. Elements on the regular menu that can be made vegan are marked with a star. The chicken sandwich becomes a big cauliflower steak. The knight is also adaptable. There are burgers and other options, but we haven't tried this time. Family seat at the top 21 below. Parking nearby. Do not accept reservations currently.
Updated 2/2021 They merged their vegan menu back with the main one, which is sad. Tso burger and chicken sandwich are always great. Pad thai and watermelon salad, too. Ewe tso still consistently amazing. : Almost everything on the menu is great. A few notes: the ramen is very earthy due to mushroom broth the honey fried is sometimes amazing and sometimes bland mushy the ewe tso is consistently amazing They have a FULL vegan menu be sure to ask for it. Staff are really well informed and friendly. Highly recommend.
They merged their vegan and nonvegan menus recently, so now about 50% of the menu is marked with can be made vegan . It 's a bit confusing and you have to ask what they 'll change in the individual items (for example, the pulled pork on one of their sandwiches gets substituted by jackfruit), since it is not specified on the menu. The additional protein option consists of a choice between three animal products and carrots (apparently fermented or somesuch, but rather underwhelming). I found it to be trying way too hard to be fusion-y and modern. The sides I 've tried (brussels sprout and fried spiced cauliflower) were good, the main bowls somewhat disappointing. Portion sizes are very large, so a main and a side dish might already be too much. In summary, the new menu has been a downgrade.
They have an entire vegan menu as well as a carnivore menu. Great place to take friends who are not vegan. Their general tso’s cauliflower burger is probably my favorite thing in south bend food-wise. I highly recommend this place! To be honest, I didn’t like their beer much though...
Great place to go with your friends who are not vegan: they have an extensive omnivorous menu as well as a vegan menu. The waitress was very nice, and the restaurant is willing to make changes to the menu items for your order. Note that the main floor is 21 and above only (there is a second floor).
