I ordered a meal with pancakes, and everything was brought out except syrup. An older white couple came in and were promptly served, with syrup brought out for their pancakes. It seems that this differential treatment is based on race. The cost for a half order of biscuits and gravy is $5.75, and there is a clear disparity in how white customers are treated compared to black customers. Despite the possibility for change, it seems unlikely that attitudes in the restaurant will improve.
