Sonoma Eats Mexican
Sonoma Eats Mexican
Description
Sonoma Eats delivers vibrant, authentic Mexican fare in a sunny, dog-friendly patio setting. Standouts include blue‑corn fish tacos, birria and shrimp tacos, mushroom and mole enchiladas, house guacamole and a balanced agua de jamaica. Owner-operated, it offers take‑and‑bake items, family packs and generous sangria amid cafe‑lit backyard seating. Mostly warm, knowledgeable service complements excellent value, though a few diners note inconsistent staff behavior toward families.

Now, let’s talk about the agua de jamaica. This is a refreshing hibiscus drink made from red hibiscus flowers steeped in hot water, sweetened with sugar, and served chilled. (You can even make it at home, and it's fantastic in the summer.) Sonoma Eats is more careful with the sugar compared to other taquerias I've tried, resulting in a delicious drink that pairs well with the food without the guilt of excessive sugar. Currently, my favorite dish is the mushroom enchiladas, which I indulge in twice a month! I keep telling myself that one day I’ll try the carnitas tacos.
I love Sonoma Eats's fish tacos, tinga tostadas, and its gorditas. If you're Mexican, you don't want to miss these 3 items.
This place is a hidden gem! We were looking for Mexican food and happened to walk into this place. The staff was super friendly and helped us pick food and it was super yummy! The kids enjoyed their quesadillas and us adults loved the chicken enchiladas. I have had a lot of Mexican food in my life and this was definitely one of the best places I've been!
Sonoma Eats has the best Mexican food in Sonoma. The food is amazing and well-plated (I've had the tacos, sopes and gorditas), the ingredients are fresh, and the staff is friendly. The food is just as good as El Molino (which I'm also a fan of), but with no line and at significantly lower prices. They have a cute patio with cafe lights, too.
