We... read more My husband and I did one of the wedding packages at MacArthur Place, and I’m very happy with our decision. It was late September and the weather was perfect. We LOVED our room. It doesn’t feel like a hotel room because it’s so upscale and luxurious. Our room had a fire place with a nice seating area and it was very easy to start a fire. There was a big soaking tub with a little satchel of lavender and bath salts. We loved the robes. They provide the Dyson hair dryers. They spoiled us with a bottle of champagne, snacks, macarons, and nuts. There was a big BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers for us, which we actually ended up displaying at our wedding. One of the best features is you can send texts to ask questions and get things delivered to your room. The service is so fast and satisfying. For example we used it for: -we needed to print our vows. They brought them to us in a nice folder -We ordered breakfast room service -We had a fork, some water, and another fire log delivered at like 1130 at night. Unfortunately the spa was still being renovated when we stayed there but we still got a couples massage that was great. My husband said it may have been one of the best massages he’s had. For our wedding we served food from the hotel's restaurant, Layla. We heard positive things all around about the food, but in particular our guests loved the appetizers. The location is great because you can easily walk to the downtown area of Sonoma with lots of shops and restaurants. There's plenty of parking around but they have valet as well. Thinking about staying at any other hotel now we find ourselves comparing it to MacArthur and it makes it so difficult. We look forward to going back for our anniversaries and especially now with the pool and spa open.

On a whim, we decided to make some reservations, and thanks to a discount for California residents, we opted for the Julia Suite. Upon arrival, we enjoyed complimentary valet service, and during check-in, we were greeted with a glass of champagne. The rooms have been beautifully remodeled—it's hard to believe the Victorian home we stayed in was built in the 1800s. Our room was fantastic, with a prime location and a spacious outdoor patio. I loved the heated floors in the bathroom! To my delight, the pool was still open and heated as well. We spent some time at the bar, where the bartender was fantastic, recommending some of his own new creations that were absolutely delicious. The next morning, I treated myself to a hot stone massage at the spa, which was wonderfully relaxing—a perfect way to start the day. I highly recommend spending time at MacArthur Place. We will definitely be returning!

We sat on the patio next to the fountain, which made for a lovely setting. Mingma was our server and she was delightful, very attentive but never made us feel rushed. Excellent coffee, I love that they froth the creamer. Bestfruit bowl I?ve ever had, hands down. The avocado toast with the smoked salmon was perfection. My husband loved the short ribhash. Great time, looking forward to coming again!
