recently got the mixed ceviche, lomo-saltado, tamal, and the hunch dinner for delivery. while they were not the cheapest Peruvian food option in the opposite, they certainly had some great dishes to try. the mixed ceviche and lomo-saltado were our favorite, and I liked above all the refreshing aftertaste of the ceviche. tamal was also interesting, but a bit too heavy to be an appetizer. the roasted chicken was just o... What Amanda Bowers doesn't like about Machu Picchu Charcoal Chicken Grill:
Loved the chicken even though it was expensive. But they are actually not open for dine in all orders are directed to Macchu Picchu. And Macchu Picchu maybe the mistake was sitting outside, but we were waiting at our table for 30 minutes and no one came to get our order... We were literally about to leave when someone finally came to take our order. View all feedback.
Damn this is good food. Order extra sauce. Green is spicy yellow us not both are yummy! Best Peruvian food I've had.
The white chicken and large salad were a solid meal, and in total only about 12 bucks. The service was fast. The Peruvian salad dressings without cream were delicious and strongly flavored, out of which the green was pretty spicy. The avocado came with the salad, and we didn't need to order extra.
Came from Upstate NY, found the place through the Yelp app and decided to give it a shot. Parking came be complicated, this place is surrounded by pubs and other college student restaurants. Had to park at a close by bank parking lot. We called ahead (1hour wait), waited 5 minutes to get to our tables. This a Saturday, there was live music but I am not sure it happens every night. Customer service was great, the server kept checking in with us. We order (party of 4 including a 9 year old) a couple of delicious Pisco Sour drinks. I had the Ceviche (medium spice), my wife order the chicken (more on that in a minute) and my teenage daughter order the Jalea. Both Ceviche and Jalea were excellent. The chicken was a little cold and had no flavor. It may have been left on the counter waiting for our other orders to complete the order. I usually don't order the chicken in a Peruvian restaurant unless that is their specialty, it is on the name of the restaurant so we thought it would be good. I will still give it a 4 stars because it was still way better than the restaurants in NYC we ever tried.
Came here for rotisserie chicken, it was nicely cooked, very juicy.
Came in here a few weeks back. Well I ordered from this location, not knowing that it had basically closed and had been absorbed by its sister Machu Pichu down the street. I always felt it weird they were so close but MC was certainly more causal. I ended up calling ahead and walking to MC before realizing they had combined.I used to come here often when I lived in Porter pre-Covid. Best sandwich in Union in my opinion but that has certainly changed. By far the biggest disappointment is moving from a French bread type roll to a bulky sandwich roll. Completely changes the taste. Not the same amount of rotisserie chicken as it used to be and most of it was dry. It’s a shame as I used to really dig this spot. The fries were rather hard too but they did provide the same dressing condiment as before. I’ll likely avoid this in the future. Please change back the bread you use!
