Succulent Cafe - SOLVANG

The lamb chops the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon was very tasty!

We we’re celebrating Anniversary and we’re given a great corner table. Kelly our server was really helpful and friendly. We loved the bacon wrapped scallops a generous portion for an appetizer. Best dinner was short ribs!but we all loved our entrees. Fried chicken and stuffed chicken excellent. We will be dining here every time we come to Solvang, Oh we had a fantastic chocolate desert with ice cream and toffee crumbles!

We felt rushed. Which I understand because they were busy, but as locals, it reminds me not to go back for a while. The dishes were cleared from those who had finished eating, but not everyone was done eating, which I believe makes the person still eating feel like they need to hurry up. And before everyone was done eating, the waitress asked if we wanted to look at the dessert menus. At that point I said, Perhaps AFTER everyone is done eating you could come back and ask us that Food is amazing. It's very noisy when it's packed and you're inside we had to shout to talk to each other, which just makes the noise level worse, but what do you do? And the server and staff couldn't have been nicer, I just don't think they've been trained that there is a fine line between encouraging turn over and being pushy.

I love Succulent Cafe, I've been several times. Normally it exceeds expectations, but or most recent meal there was mediocre. Such a disappointment. The fried chicken was very dry and the quality was what I would expect at a fast food restaurant, the collard greens were unappetizing. My boyfriend said he will never eat there again, but I will give it another chance and hope the quality is better. On a brighter note, the brussel sprouts were devine, the starter biscuits and delicious, and my entree Spicy Hen was good. The service was exceptional though! Hopefully we just caught an off night. I'll write another review after I visit again.
