It was greeted by a waitress who spoke with us at a distance. we got into a table of our choice when it was empty. we had ordered a prosecco afternoon tea and t... read more It was greeted by a waitress who spoke with us at a distance. we got into a table of our choice when it was empty. we had ordered a prosecco afternoon tea and there were no chilled prosecco that has not yet been bought by the cellar. a warm glass was given! we rejected that. so coworkers especially sarah tudor was not amused and questioned when we refused the warm glass prosecco. not even an apology, just an apology. had to wait well in the tea before we got a chilled glass. not impressed as his not cheap and we expected at least an above average tee. I was on many afternoons and expected something special. wasting money, like not eating good.

Have a afternoon tee with my sister, who was given a gift voucher by her son. it was a prosecco afternoon tea. at the arrival we were told that they had run out... read more Have a afternoon tee with my sister, who was given a gift voucher by her son. it was a prosecco afternoon tea. at the arrival we were told that they had run out of the chilled prosecco and that we had to wait. how embarrassing is it that a Michelin star restaurant has no chilled bottle of a drink that is so popular? the waitress told us that we must wait until the bottle is cooled, and that was not apologetic, but very rude! we have asked that they give us champagne more than a polite replacement for the prosecco. hoping that would be the obvious thing to do to save the embarrassment, but the manager stood up with 2 glasses of prosseco from the warm bottle! as asked why we couldn't have the champagner, we were told that it would cost us extra to have it! I would expect this type of service from a 2 or 3 star hotel, but never from one that proudly it itself as a unique top class restaurant. I don't ask them to support this thing if they just do.

However, there was a slight lack of service when we arrived as there were no staff members visible and we had to wait for about 5 minutes until someone arrived. The decoration of the restaurant is beautiful, but there were cleanliness issues such as leather seats with dust and spiderwebs on wooden partitions. We typically enjoy Marco Pierre White restaurants, but we are unsure if we will visit this one again.
