Reviews summary
Nestled in the heart of Solihull, this restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere ideal for coffee enthusiasts and casual diners alike. While many patrons rave about the delightful cakes and generous portions, service can be hit-or-miss, with slow wait times and lukewarm food reported during busy periods. The self-service ordering system has drawn mixed reviews, but friendly staff often shine through amidst the chaos. Diners appreciate the scenic views and the option to enjoy M&S’s renowned food offerings, making this spot a convenient and enjoyable stop for a light meal or a quick coffee break during a shopping spree.

had lunch in the caffe above, cheap eating, good portions and beautiful coffee. what really deserves to be mentioned are the incredibly friendly and attentive employees. not only that the one complicated order got perfect, they took the time to talk to my daughter. I have not experienced this level of friendly service for a very long time! a special mention for jayne and vicky on the cash in the caffe, to the dame th... View all feedback.
What ScootsBirmingham dislikes about M&s:
I stopped in for coffee after shopping, and although the queue wasn't too terrible, it took a very long time to get served. The woman working the counter was handling everything on her own, from taking orders to processing payments to making the drinks. The coffee and chocolate drinks were tasty, but the service was extremely slow. I may not be coming back to this place. View all feedback.

We visited the M&S cafe at Shirley today. The staff were good and the service was quick. My husband had an email about a new menu so we decided to give it a try. On the menu was listed Magic Coffee. It was priced £3.10 which is the same price as a normal size latte. We were very disappointed as the only Magic thing about it was the fact that half of seemed to have disappeared by the time we were served it in glasses from a dolls house!!!
We really like M&S food, we do buy quite a lot from there. I went and bought 8 reindeer steamed buns because they looked very scrumptious indeed. They cost £7.50 I thought well, its not just any old food it's M&S food they looked gorgeous and we couldn't wait to try them. I have to say they were hard and very little filling in side. I put mango sauce just to add flavour not very good at all and definitely not worth the money. Sorry to give a poor review. Maybe a taste test for your customers would be good. I bought other Christmas food and it's very nice.
What a shame, coffee now in tiny cups bread roll now extra with soup, no saucers , short staffed. Come on M &S your USP is quality !....
I have tried several times to get a good cup of coffee here but it’s always luke warm and doesn’t taste good either. I don’t like the new system of ordering on a screen either.

Service was awful. The new machines for ordering are supposed to speed things up but the system just doesn’t work. Ordered a toastie cold drink and cake. Toastie came in about 10mins which was cold. 30 mins later still waiting for drink and cake, when approached desk it wasn’t even on a tray. The organisation really needs to be reviewed.
When shopping in Marks and Spencer we always have coffee in the Coffee shop the coffee is very good the Staff are always very nice and pleasant a good place to relax well worth a visit
I enjoy shopping at this M&S store as the car park is above the store. As you walk out of the store you can walk straight into Mell Square which have plenty of shops and a 2 minute walk into Touchwood Shopping Centre.

First visit in a m and s caffe since märz. early in the morning, so very few customers. but tables well spaced, different entry and exit points and as always super friendly and efficient staff. had a nice social distance chat with helen and jayne. both were welcoming and seemed really satisfied that I had made the first step into the caffe. delicious capuze and toast and peace for half an hour. bliss! it will not leave for so long. thank you and jayne!
A fair sized store, easy to navigate. The cafe is very nice but gets very crowded at peak times but food is delivered fairly quickly. Everything is always very good. Staff are very cheerful and helpful. The toilets are spotless

I have not experienced this level of friendly service for a very long time! a special mention for jayne and vicky on the cash in the caffe, to the dame that eat and the gentleman who brought extra cutlery, all smiled and chatting. who manages the recruitment for these industries at all, deserves a pat on the back to bring together such a beautiful group of people! well done and we will be back!
Shopping for T-shirts and pants for my man, apart from 1 T-shirt that was not available in its size, we have everything he needs. we also went to the food department, some things that were advertised in the 'dine in' offer 't available. the load was well organized and made shopping as pleasant as in these difficult times.
