Sat outside the bar in the sun overlooking the golf lawns, very relaxing, ordered baguettes that were delicious, although took ages to be served. Not enough staff on the bar. View all feedback.

I never usually make it policy to eat in hotel bars, as usually they are overpriced and underwhelming relying purely on the captive audience approach, and I was correct. But the geography of the hotel and TA telling me the nearest Indian was 3km away I was trapped! I had passed on the main restaurant as it seemed expensive for what is was offering. There main lager was carling and one of those nobody really knows or tries, there was no premier brands such as Moretti, Peroni, Estrella, SAN Miguel. Where are these people living!! So I went straight to some overpriced house wine at £7.50 for a large glass, I suspect the bottle was less than a fiver! The food selection was again overpriced, clearly relying on tired golfers coming of the course and just buying anyThing! I went of an Italian platter to share, this was a 2 man starter, which I had as a main, some warm bread, 4 slices of mozzarella, 6 slices of meat (2 x 3 different types) and olives and garlic, some sun dried tomatoes and some artichokes. All for the sum of £17.95 Probably a fivers worth from the Tesco deli! Not very impressed a good deli board has so much potential but this was all a bit cheap and underwhelming. My bill for 2 glasses of house wine. And my deli board was £32.75 just not good value or even good! Next time I will walk the 3K, lesson learned!
As a treat for me and my mum I booked a spa day with afternoon tea. The spa was fantastic as well as the treatment. However when we found the bar to have our afternoon tea, the tables were all full of plates and glasses and there didn’t seem to be enough staff on. When we eventually sat down in the snug, it was like sitting in a cave. No music or ambiance, so I played some music on my phone. We were served our tea and coffee quite promptly, but to food took some time, not a problem if you are waiting for freshly made sandwiches and cakes. Well it arrived. no introduction of what the sandwiches were, so had to guess. They were dry and the filling were not recognisable. The scones look like they had come out of packet from Aldi and the slices of stodgy cake were vile. I have been to many afternoon teas and this was by far the worst one. Will never eat here again!!
I went to the restaurant for a delicious meal and then enjoyed a drink at the bar afterwards. The staff were very welcoming, there was a great selection of drinks, and the views of the golf course were stunning. It was also a nice bonus to be able to watch a football game while there.
Nestled within a hotel, the restaurant offers a mix of dining experiences with varying reviews. While some guests found the bar menu overpriced and lacking in quality, others appreciated the pleasant atmosphere and diverse drink selection overlooking the scenic golf course. Notably, the food quality had its highs and lows, with some dishes impressing and others deemed underwhelming for their price. Service also received mixed feedback, with some staff performing admirably, while one waitress's attitude fell short. Overall, the venue promises potential but may require attention to pricing and consistency to enhance guest satisfaction.

If you are not a golfer I would suggest you don't eat here. A family of three we ate here and were very disappointed, about to receive our meal and a man walked over and announced to the waitress he wanted to watch football so turned the volume way up loud (above our heads), he then sat and watched as I moved all our things including the high chair as I couldn't hear myself think (showing absolutely no consideration and in fact smirking as I struggled). We mentioned this to the waitress as we paid for our (overpriced and average) meal and were told that he was in fact the owner of the bar. It was bad enough a total stranger doing something like that but clearly as the owner he has no consideration for customers would not recommend in the slightest, such inconsiderate behaviour from management.
We went to the bar in the hotel for our evening meal. This was due to the restaurant being formal and we weren't dressed or in the mood for formal. We were very happy that there was the option of bar food too. The waitress was unfortunately, very miserable. We ordered prosecco she brought it over, plonked it on the table and walked away... The cork and wrapper was still on it! We opened it ourselves and it was a beautiful prosecco. The food was delicious and the manager was very friendly. It was just a shame about that one waitress!
Four colleagues and I had a really excellent three course lunch with drinks, coffee and mince pies for a very reasonable £160. The food was well cooked and very tasty. The staff could not have been kinder. 2 different starters, 4 different mains and 5 different desserts. Would we return ? You bet!
Visited for lunch. Although it was a nice food and atmosphere and overlooked the golf course, it was expensive. 3 x sausage sandwiches and 3 x alcoholic drinks £28. Not sure it was worth anywhere near that much but hey ho, it was a treat.
Expensive drinks. Patio doors over the golf course and we were lucky the weather was good so we sat out on the patio whilst the wedding photos were being taken in the grounds
