Such a wonderful change from chain hotels, this great experience started with being shown to my room - can't remember when that last happened. Dinner and breakfast were great and the room (in a separate building) was more like an apartment. I recommend it highly! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pilgrimhaus:
Our hotel recommended Pilgrimhaus. With no reservation we were made to feel unwelcome. Told no room on patio (although it never filled up during the 2+ hours we were there). Ordered dinner & one appetiser. Table of locals sat down 15 after us. They had their meals and were done while we still waited. Waitress was pleasant and friendly but in no hurry. Asked twice for another beer while the locals got attentive servic... View all feedback.

Dropped on here by chance. Had a very comfortable stay after a warm welcome. The inn was built in 1304 and is kept spotlessly clean. We had an excellent evening meal from a very extensive menu. A charming place.
Our last meal in Soest. Had forgotten how limited German menus can be ... then we found this little gem. Different choices, particularly fish. We had the tuna steaks which were really big and meaty. Daughter had the duck. Sat in the garden, great atmosphere, great service. Clientele slightly older and more well to do which explains the good quality. They also have accommodation which we might try next time.
This is my favorite restaurant in Germany. Their cuisine has been consistently stellar for years. In my opinion, they serve the best food that I have had in Europe in the last 5 years. The place has been around since 1304 when it was an inn that was run by monks. One of the more recent owners was a big art collector and the whole restaurant is filled with original art by local artists going back to the 1920s. The menu is creative, very tasty and they have a wonderful selection of wines and beers also. I eat there every time I am in Soest (I travel there about twice a year). They also run a hotel, which is stellar. The breakfast is simple, fresh and good. You won't easily find much better food, lodging, people or surroundings anywhere you go in Europe.
This was a great take on classic German dishes. Food was beautifully prepared and presented. We were a group of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meal without exception. Staff were super friendly and helpful - even to the uneducated English!! Thank goodness. If you want somewhere that feels a bit special, this is definitely the best place in Soest for that.
