Red Claw Seafood Co - Smithville

Only doing 1 star because they need to be updated on Google maps so nobody else waste their time trying to go. When we finally did find the right location, they weren't even open

I supported the Red Claw when they ran the operation out of a food truck. Food was great then. My experience tonight going to their brick and mortar location not so much. I was informed it requires a membership fee of $75 dollars. The lady who address me didn't even try to sell me one. Seating is limited so plan ahead. Personally there are other fine places to eat around Smithville and Bastrop that don't require membership. If that your thing, please go, and enjoy.

Loved the food from the beginning, the service not so much. Decided to wait to return once they had opened their brick and mortar restaurant. Made reservations a week early for our 40th anniversary dinner on Saturday. They texted me on Friday to confirm, which I did. Got there Saturday and they were closed. No heads up, no notice, nothing!! Finally got a hold of the owner on FB the following day hoping for an explanation. He was angry and basically said I was “an entitled ****” and then blocked me. I will not return and will not refer them ever again!!

Attempted to go to the restaurant at 4:15pm after waiting for 30 minutes to open and were completely ignored by the 2 people inside the restaurant! Wouldn't open the door or give explanation or anything. I later made a post telling verbatim what happened on Facebook and the moderator of the restaurant page blocked me! A simple apology would have sufficed but apparently they can not handle any kind of negative criticism even if it is completely warranted. Well...I was going to give it another shot but after this I think I won't be going there and I'll be sure and let everyone I know what kind of experience I had with Red Claw

It’s a food truck but don’t judge it from the outside. The food was delish! Best seafood in the area. Can’t wait to be back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
