Sunday-drive on a Saturday took us to the town of Smithville, TX, best known for movie Hope Floats (photo). Pocket 's Grille was a good choice to eat. Big menu with something for everyone; friendly order-taker made an old guy feel welcome, calling me 'hun '; variety of seating options. Wife had blue cheese mushroom burger, no bun. I adapted their BLT to a BT on white bread not toasted with extra mayo, plus coleslaw.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Pockets' Grille:
Dr. Pepper tasted like fish water. Owner was rude about it. I choked down my sandwich. My husband could not eat his food at all. It was that bad. Never will return here. Bad first time experience. We took our done in to go so we could get drinks at the convenience store. View all feedback.
We never actually got to eat here. We left after waiting a LONG time for the cashier to count every bill and coin in the register. 2 other employees were milling around with nothing to do and could have started cooking my order had she taken it. We stood at the register then sat at a table, then left and ate at a Mexican restaurant down the street.
Not as good as it used to be... especially for the price.
The food is good and it definitely fills you up the customer service is good and the place is very nice I love the decor and how there is a playground for kids to play plus you can eat outside a lot of restaurants are inside with no playground
The cooks had caps on but their hair was long and hanging down. The food was over cooked. The prices were high for what we got. We will not go back.
The food is ALWAYS good and I love having a place to take my kids to eat that has a playscape. Reminds me of McDonald's back in the day, but the food is a million times better. Thanks to Kyriah for making even just picking up food today a pleasant experience. Kudos to the chefs as well.
