**Dining Experience at Boathouse Bistro: A Mixed Bag of Reviews**
Diners at Boathouse Bistro have encountered a spectrum of experiences ranging from disappointing to delightful. Some patrons criticized the food quality, highlighting poorly prepared dishes, excessive oil, and high prices that failed to deliver satisfactory meals. Conversely, many families appreciated the welcoming atmosphere, especially for children and pets, along with attentive staff and a varied, enjoyable menu. Special occasions, like a baby shower, were met with commendable service and attention to detail. Overall, while some guests have left disheartened, others celebrate the bistro as a charming spot worth revisiting for its friendly vibe and delicious meals.

We just had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! We arrived with two grumpy kids and our puppy, so we didn't have high expectations, but the staff assured us that the pub is friendly for both children and dogs. How fantastic! From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered, including those at the bar, restaurant, and management, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The kids were welcomed with coloring packs, enjoyed the totem tennis set, and had a blast in the playground, while our puppy was provided with a water dish. The menu was the best we've seen in the entire area, covering Arakoon, The Rocks, and Hat Head, and our meals were delicious. I can't express enough how fantastic our experience was. Thank you so much, and we look forward to returning next year!
What a wonderful little place to enjoy some drinks or simply have a chat over lunch! The food is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend it to everyone!
I dined here on Saturday night, and I must say that the new chef, Kate, did a fantastic job. We had a table of 15, and every single meal was delicious. I highly recommend the pumpkin salad and lamb shanks. Great job, Kate and team!
I recently dined at this restaurant with my parents, hoping to enjoy a good meal, but instead, we were met with a deeply unsatisfactory experience that reinforced our decision to cook at home more often. To start, the garlic bread was poorly prepared and lacked any hint of garlic flavor. The fish was drowning in oil, making it nearly inedible, and there was enough grease to coat the entire establishment. The $45 steak we ordered was mostly gristle and fat, making it hard to enjoy, and everything in the fisherman’s basket was covered in a batter that was unpleasant and hard to eat. By the end of the meal, we all felt physically unwell, likely due to the excessive oil in our dishes. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I've ever had. I wouldn't return to this restaurant even if I were paid to do so. Overall, I rated the food, service, and atmosphere all at 1 out of 5.
