I have been a long-time fan of Ted Dreves for years while living in St. Louis. So when I moved to Illinois and stumbled upon a quaint ice cream shop in the small town of Smithton, I was pleasantly surprised. The ice cream at this place is even better - in fact, better than Ted Dreves from what I remember. They still have malts. We also got 2 cheeseburgers. Also way better than any fastfood. They do make and cook to order. You are not getting food from under a heat lamp. So it might take a few minutes to make your order fresh, but well worth the couple minutes. Absolutely will return and have returned. Order is either drive up window or walk up window. Everything well marked and organized. Felt very safe ordering food... View all feedback.
This place has everything they can wish in an ice-laden. it is small and busy, but the service was fast. the prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are huge. I recommend the banan splitting. but also the Hawaiian ice was pretty good. in any case, a stop when they are in the opposite.
Great burgers, chips, and ice cream!!! Even better, they serve Ski!!!

The best chocolate malts ever. Most ice cream, malts, shakes etc. BUT they do have burgers hot dogs.
Just moved to Smithton IL and this place is flat out amazing. The custard is top shelf, generous toppings, great service. A decent selection of lunch and dinner sandwich options rounds it all out. Love this little Gem.
