What User doesn't like about Frothy Coffee:
Nice to have a coffee by the water - this is great for that but the coffee was really not good. Used to really good coffee in Sydney - hard to find in rural areas View all feedback.

We drove out of our way to dine here as I had been before and had a great meal in a great location. It was very cold, about 9am Winter and I was surprised there were no heaters or plastic curtains on the outdoor dining area. Sitting inside is an option but no view or atmosphere so we donned beanies and sat outside. Such a beautiful location. Our meals were lovely and staff very friendly. We all thought some heating would make the place far more accommodating in the cold weather, or even some blankets. Menu is limited, would have liked a muesli or some fruit/yoghurt options. Coffee was GREAT!
Just down the road from Bluey's beach, I came across a small sign pointing to Frothy Coffee. The road I turned into looked more like suburbia in the bush and sure enough at the next cross road the sign tacked to a tree gave little indication of where to go. I tried straight ahead but came to a dead end. Next I tried the left option which took me down to the lake side and nestled on the water was the Frothy Coffee Boatshed. This has to be the most hidden secret gem on the whole of the lake system. The ambience when sitting on the deck out over the water, as I am writing this, is awesome. Catamarans for hire are tied up along the foreshore and a tiny jetty off the deep end of the deck is home to several tinnies that one can hire for a day on the lake. The service is friendly and the coffee right up there as far as great coffee goes.Looking out across the lake there is bird life everywhere and as I sit here a majestic pelican flaps lazily after a fishing tinnie waiting to see if the wake of the passing boat stirs up any morsels. The Vee of the wake creeps slowly towards me as I watch with its twin heading for the far shore. This is the low season as the Lakes have a high proportion of Holiday rentals and so the cooler months see a big drop off in numbers. Just down from the Boat shed is the sand bar.Just visible passed a small headland, this sandbar opens to drain the lake when the water level gets too high and then closes naturally again when all is equal in its world. This happens around once every one or two years depending on the rainsThe water here is crystal clear and fish can be seen swimming beneath the deck as I sip my coffee. At 3:15 in the afternoon the main kitchen was closed , however, I was able to get a snack from the cake and savoury bar to go with my coffee.Would I come back here? That is a definite yes...
Great little cafe on Smiths Lake, a real institution over many years.VERY good coffee and simple food of great value and taste. Well worth the look.
Had lunch with family. Very friendly staff who took our order promptly and food arrived in a relatively short time after that. Very clean restaurant and quality of the food was excellent.
