Tasty authentic Mexican food, at a gas station. It's overpriced some, but at least everything is fresh. Chicken quesadilla is very good, with peppers and mushrooms stuffed inside. Not bad for less than $4. Bean burrito was about the same price, full of grated cheese and whole pinto beans, not refried. Some of the cheese on the ends wasn't melted. It tasted okay dipped in their hot salsa, but all of the whole beans bothered me some, texturally. I tried eating inside once, but tables weren't all cleaned. I prefer the drive-thru. It's not a bad option if you live in the area. 3.5 stars.
This is my go-to lunch place if I don't bring my own. I don't usually go for the larger items (burrito or salad) as 6$ is a little too much to spend on a lunch but the sweet pork quesadilla is surely a guilty pleasure if there ever was one! If you buy the combo (75¢ extra) it comes with two sides and a little drink, which I highly recommend because their rice, chips, and salsa are all fantastic! The only other review states how expensive this place is but I'm very inclined to disagree, I think the price is very fair for the quality of food you get. It's certainly not a place to eat at but is great for takeout!
Really good food with good flavors. Unfortunately, WAY overpriced! Let's be clear, this is not a restaurant. It's a take-out with Chevron gas station tables if you want to eat there. And, of course they ask for tips with a big paper lunch bag perched on the glass display. The service is minimalist and I had to ask them to clean a table. She did... With a dry paper towel. Not within health code rules. It's a shame it's not priced to reflect the atmosphere and the quantity of food. Sadly, I won't be back after two trips here to see if the first visit was a fluke of small quantities and overpriced food. It's clear they don't understand their demographic. You're in a gas station, folks! And, it's take-out!
The food was just alright. I ordered a carne asada burrito, but it turned out to be quite bland. The rice in the burrito was soggy, the beans were flavorless, and it overshadowed the decent taste of the beef. Considering the quality, I found it to be overpriced. I recommend heading across the street to La Unica instead; you'll be glad you chose that option.
My favorite spot for nachos is at the Chevron on South Main in Smithfield. While the tacos are decent, I personally prefer the new Mexican restaurant across the street. However, if you're looking for a quick lunch, their nachos are truly outstanding. Plus, you can grab just about any drink you want from their impressive cooler selection.
