Frangos - Smithfield

Had lunch here with friends, It looks like a regular little charcoal chicken shop but it is so much more. It's a busy shop so bookings are essential for more than four people. The service was fast and friendly and the food was amazing! We ordered the chicken and beef skewers that hang over the table, they were beautifully cooked and were very generous portions, we also had the chicken pieces which tasted completely different to the hanging chicken, so much flavour ! We had roast garlic potatoes and thin sliced potatoes that seemed ordinary but when you cover them In the chilli sauce, yummo ! We just couldn't stop eating this sauce, it isn't super hot but tastes of chilli, the heat doesn't get in the way. It is a BYO restaurant so come prepared. They also do take away which the line was out the door, you know it's a good place when it is so packed and very reasonably priced. We will definitely come back again when in the area!

Massive fan of there chilli sauce, mayo and lettuce on a bun. The chips cooked to perfection. Recommended getting the extra chilli if you like things hot!

Amazing people, amazing food and the best home made chilli sauce around. Can't stay away. LOVE this restaurant. and its amazing food for such a cheap price. Just AMAZING

This place is a real hit, it's always packed, the foot is fresh and tasty, there's a variety to choose from such as portuguese bbq chicken, burgers, chips, bbq'd meat on a skewer and more, the salads look amazing too, it's a local joint where lots of worker frequent and being on a busy street gets lots of customers, there's sit down tables inside and a couple outside, the only down side is that it's on the small side for the amount of people that visit it, it would be great if they could expand. The servings are on the large side, perhaps too large for some, we last went on Friday night at around 8pm and were lucky to get a table, many people came in after us and had to wait for tables to clear. I recommend this place if you are after something affordable, tasty, and like to eat in a vibrant place with staff that are happy to see you. Table service is with eat-in customers. Portuguese burger meal with chips is only $12.50 and it's massive.

As you can see from the subject line..... this was a hit!!!I visited this take out / dine in restaurant with my mates. Being that it is on Horsley Drive, I thought that it may be empty and overrated… but man was I shocked. As you step in you just smell the beautiful protégées spices and charcoal and the restaurant was filled with different crowds. There were families, couples, friends and large groups.One thing that was good to see, everyone that was paying and leaving was thanking the cashier for a delicious meal.We ordered 3 burgers and the ¾ lamb skewer. Man oh man… WOW. This is my new favourite place. best burgers I have ever eaten and the skewer, we asked for a medium and we got a medium cooked to perfection. I’ve eaten at several restaurants that serve steak… all I can say is those chefs should come on an excursion and see how this place prepares and cooks the food.I highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you are on a informal family outing, a date or a group of friends just wanting to grab a bite, do not pass this restaurant. This is one place you need to visit!Delicious!
