I had the Ahi tuna on a few pieces of Lettuce or arugula. I think I had 5 thin pieces of tuna. Ounce wise, a pricey selection for a lunch item. But what the heck. I am on weight watchers. No points for lunch. I came home and murdered a nice bowl ofhomemade golden lentils I made earlier this week with bits of chicken breast pieces in it. I went to the Slidell spot becausemy bankers were so kind to ask me to lunch. Great for that . It was my first time eating at Gallaghers since he had the placeon highway 25 years ago outside covington and folsom. It was a fun lunch. Service was wonderful. I hope to see Amelia one day.
The quality of this place has definitely changed. My wife and I have been many times over the past couple years and drive an hour to get there. Our last 2 visits have been less than stellar. The service has been pretty poor. Having been a waiter myself,I tend to make excuses for the waiters, but they are not that busy and a customer should never have to be without something todrink especially when they are in the middle of the meal. My glass was bone dry and several people including our waitresswalked by several times. I had to finish my meal without something to drink. My steak was overcooked and my wife's steak wasundercooked. I think they got them backwards. I don't think I will go back, pay way too much money to have food and particularlyservice like that.
I visited Gallagher's On Front for a business dinner last night, and everything was absolutely delicious with excellent service! Without a doubt, it’s the best fine dining experience I've had in Slidell so far.
This is a fantastic place for a date night! We started with the Oysters Pablo for our appetizer, and they were delightful. My wife chose the 8 oz filet, which arrived on a sizzling plate of hot butter. It was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. I opted for the crispy redfish, topped with brown butter sauce, almond shavings, and lump crab, and it was incredible as well. The only downside was the sides we ordered—the sweet potato casserole and garlic mashed potatoes. They weren't bad, but they didn't quite measure up to the entrees, which is why I gave it 4 stars. We'll definitely be back!
Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us with a warm smile and seated us promptly. Unfortunately, our server was quite unfriendly. She didn’t smile, her responses were brief, and she was almost walking away before we could finish our questions. When I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, she simply replied, “Okay, what’s your side?” in a very dry manner. On a positive note, the gentleman responsible for drinks and bread was extremely friendly and attentive. He made such a positive impression that we left him a tip, and he seemed genuinely appreciative. We considered switching servers after observing the way the other one interacted with customers. As for the food, it was delicious overall. There was a minor mix-up with my steak; I had requested it medium, but they brought it out medium-well. However, after they corrected it, the steak was tender and delicious. I also ordered the lobster tail, which was large and juicy—I enjoyed that immensely. The fleur-de-lis shrimp was fantastic and something I would definitely order again. My husband had the lamb and quail; he found the quail to be somewhat fresh but really enjoyed the lamb. We also tried the creamy spinach and sweet potato casserole, which were just average—nothing particularly special. For dessert, my husband got the ooey gooey treat with ice cream and a candle on top. The server placed it in front of him, wished him a dry “Happy Birthday,” and then walked away. I left her a tip because she did put in the effort, but it wasn't what I would have given had she made our experience more enjoyable. Will I return? Yes, but I’ll be sure to avoid having her as our server next time.
