We visited The Monte for a meal in May, and it was disappointing. I expected to hear some positive feedback and, wow, what a difference this time! All our meals were absolutely amazing! Came a few months ago on recommendation it was amazing, both food and staff, returned a couple of weeks ago, bar staff still amazing, however they have new kitchen staff i now would not return, half the menu no longer existed our meals came out at different times, the portions were terrible i could have gotten more in a happy meal and paid less, wont be returning for food, but definately recommend returning for drink... Nice lunch with great service. we had a steak, salat and chips special and it was a large portion meal fresh and tasty.
Big place to relax, the staff are great people, very relaxed and attending talks, everyone makes themselves welcome the boss is a lucky one to have them all.

This place is somewhat of a hidden treasure. It would be perfect for a work gathering or a Christmas party.
Awesome meal and really friendly staff. I highly recommend the 300g steak it's one of the best I've had. Thanks to all at Monte ale house we will be back.
