This hidden gem of a pub in Skipton is absolutely charming. My one concern was that the entrance from the car park is not disabled-friendly. As someone with hidden disabilities, climbing the steps to get in was a challenge. The handrails on the steps were loose and didn't provide a sense of security when going up or down. Unfortunately, we were unable to find a wheelchair-accessible entrance from the street. The pric... View all feedback.
What Jeff Watson doesn't like about Bay Horse:
Staff were all friendly and helpful, not sure why it would take 45 minutes to sort out the supply of Timothy Taylors bitter tho, but ended up having something else? Food was good for one of us, OK for another, but three of us were disappointed that the vegetables were luke warm, some overcooked with others burnt. It was edible though so we got on with it. Not sure at nearly £20 per head that we will be back though wi... View all feedback.
Dan and gemma manage the best pub in our opposite! the hospitality runs deep into its veins. Apart from the best conditioned beer the world, eating is right pub grub....big quality to great praise. please don't go on!
A few weeks ago I have friends to the bay horse, to two separate places, for a meal. both were from the opposite and had visited the pub before there and took over gemma. they were pleased to receive a warm welcome from staff, a roaring fire, a clean pub, served well kept beer and good priced, delicious and filling food. as a native it is now great that they can be proud to take friends in their local pub. it's been a long time since that was the case. well done and many thanks to dan and gemma for their hard work.
A wet and windy day when we arrived at 11.30 a.m., had only one coffee, but the woman had to have a cake and hot chocolate! nice talks with the renter and customers back so soon to try a decent selection of beer. now close to this pub so beer are excellent, timothy taylor champions club, eating is very good and much of being so close.
It is very difficult to fault this establishment. The food was top class and much enjoyed. We ordered burgers, scampi, and a gammon steak, and all were at the top of their game. They were accompanied by beautiful chips and the price for these were very reasonable. To cap all this, the staff are very friendly, the service was good, there is a pool table, and it is dog friendly. What more could you ask for?
Just called in, for a sandwich and a pint. Lovely and friendly, nice sandwich and beer. Thank you
