Decided to try Orchid as it was near my hotel in Dublins Ballsbridge area and it was getting late. I am a frequent visitor to the area but had never noticed this restaurant before. What Linda Rogan doesn't like about The Orchid:
I spent just under €70 yesterday at this restaurant and ordered a beef satay and a chicken satay. Unfortunately, they were the worst I've ever had - some of the chicken in the satay had batter on it. Both satays were watery and slopped all over the plate, overflowing. It was the first time I've ever needed a spoon to eat satay. I appreciate it was a quiet evening and there was only a few other tables taken but i this place deserves to be heaving. They have a great selection of DimSum and Apetisers . I had the Chao Zhou Dumplins to Start followed by Sizzling King Scallops for my main The food was wonderful and very tasty. This is not an average Chinese restaurant the menu is varied and has some great choices. I will be back.
It was my first time eating Thai Food, I didn't try the typical chicken curry, I chose other dish and it was delicious, specially the salad with mango. Price is normal. Service is fast. Atmosphere could be better.
We visit this restaurant every time we visit Dublin. It's well located being about 300 hundred metres from Temple Bar. The food is lovely. Try the Thai green curry!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I have dined here previously when it had a different name. The starter was good, but the beef main dish was disappointing. It did not taste like beef at all, and according to the waitress, it was steamed from frozen. The dish lacked flavor, had a terrible texture, and was not enjoyable. The ice cream dessert was icy, as if it had been re-frozen multiple times. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
