The Tuscan scallops are exceptional. The scallops are fresh, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. However, the highlight is definitely the sauce. It has multiple layers of flavor, beginning with a slight saltiness from the bacon, followed by a hint of acidity—likely from the lemon. This transitions to the natural sweetness of the scallops and finishes with a buttery note. It's rich in flavor yet wonderfully balanced. In contrast, the Paella Mixta is less remarkable. I found the spices to be somewhat overpowering, masking the original flavors of the various seafood ingredients.

This restaurant offers an extraordinary culinary experience that every visitor to Sitka should have on their itinerary. Open only seasonally, it is a compelling reason to visit Sitka during the summer months. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is delightful. Be sure to make a reservation—you won’t regret it!

It lived up to all the hype! It was a small event featuring incredibly well-designed dishes with Spanish themes. The paella was fantastic; it’s the only place I know in Alaska that serves it. It’s a bit difficult to get in, but definitely worth it. The upper floor has a bar and tapas area that operates on a first-come, first-served basis, but it doesn’t offer the full menu.

This place is pricey so it's obviously not every day dining especially since they are probably fully booked for the foreseeable future. Give them a call after 5pm Tues- Fri. Maybe to see about a reservation. We tried calling leaving voice mails eventually stopped in to make a reservation in person. They had a cancelation so we were lucky.... boy were we! The service was great, the view was great, the local fare was phenomenal. Chef Collette is really great not just for a small Alaskan town but as a chef in general. We travel all over the world eat well as we do. If you can get a reservation fit it into your budget I say go to Ludvig's.

We had the most amazing dinner at Ludvig's! Our friends ordered the calamari and mushrooms for appetizers and both were outstanding. The portions are large, we ordered house salads to start and split the bistro steak. Our friends had the paella and linguine with plenty of leftovers to take back to the lodge. Highly recommend this place for dinner and make sure you make a reservation.
