Good menu selection and a good wine list, we each opted for the “Tivoli Burger” which is obviously the chefs take on a gourmet style burger. I enjoyed the multi flavoured combinations used; pesto, tomato chutney and poppy seed bap. All strong and distinctive tastes, my partner found them too much and conflicting. Good efficient staff, attentive and professional. Located on the hillside road in Sintra, a town that is full of various restaurants, this place is worth visiting.

Given lower number of revi... read more We wanted to celebrate my wife’s Birthday during our stay in Sintra. After short deliberation, we chose Restaurant at Seteais palace. Given lower number of reviews, we arrived bit worried to the empty venue. Few more couples (probably hotel guests) showed up only later. There was nothing to complain about service, however this is also what you expect at places like these. We had Fish Soup, Foie Gras, Tiger Prawns, Turbot, Lamb Filet and chocolate desert. Seafood, fish and meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The problem were side dishes: both Prawns and Turbot were served with risotto. While risotto with Prawns was extremely dry and probably prepared upfront, the black squid risotto served with Turbot was completely undercooked the rice was still hard. We have mentioned this to our waiter without any feedback. One more thing: Amouse Bouche from Tuna was definitely prepared few days ago: it tasted sour, had slight fishy smell and mayonnaise dressing started disintegrating. Normally, this would have been an epic fail, but we think it was not intentional. There is probably so few guests eating at this place (also explaining low number of reviews), they are possibly short on staff and prepare lot of ingredients upfront, while not having enough time to prepare others on time (by the time receiving our main dish, we were not alone in the restaurant). Bill of EUR200 was kind of fair. Finally, this restaurant requires dress code: I am not sure if Polo shirts and jeans of some hotel guests arriving later were appropriate.

It was a little bit out of our comfort level as far as the type of food it was very heavily fish in French influenced. But the service was top-notch and the environment was beautiful so would visit again just if that’s your type of food.

My wife and I enjo... read more The dinning room at the Seteais Restaurant is in many ways grand but simple. Very beautiful. Service was attentive, informative and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed our dinner selections. The only small disappointment was desert with some over frozen ice cream. A small complaint.
