I've passed by this place countless times for many years but just never stepped in to try their food. Was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. The place is run by a Taiwanese couple and their son. They have been operating for the last 30 odd years. Used to be at Victoria Street. Tried the chicken chop fried rice and fish fillet noodles. Simple and deliciously good. View all feedback.
Been eating this Pork Chop rice since the father times. Now the son took over and the father just manages the kitchen. The pork chop is till good but slightly thinner compared to the past. The side dish veg still taste the same after so many years! Pork chop while thinner is still fried to order. Tender to the bite and moist inside. Fish and chips is also fried to order. Pieces of fried white fish in batter paired with fries and some coleslaw and baked beans. Fish is crispy and moist inside. They now shifted to yet another new place. While sitting in the basement can be stuffy at times. Expect the usual lunch crowd.
Pork chop rice and chicken chop noodles were both awesome. Pork chop was crispy and tasty, rice was fragrant and tasty. Chicken chop sauce (like western food) mixed with noodles was really tasty too! And the noodles was SoOOOo soft. Salted vegetable was very salty and it was sweet too. $1 for the small amount seen in picture. I'm not adding this ever again. Lucky to get a seat outside. It was windy! Have to sit outside because basement was stuffy. Long queue due to lunch crowd but queue moved fast. Definitely coming back again.
Have never tried such cuisine or dishes in my life but was pretty mindblown with the fish batter and the pork chop! The noodle was well seasoned and flavourful too! The shop may bring a nostalgic old school vibe but it is definitely unique and different from the other food options in the area
At 1.15pm, the place was relatively quiet of about 5 tables. Prices had crept up in recent months too. The pickled lettuce was excellent which perked one's appetite. The rice was lathered with a braising liquid but not enhancing much. The pork chop was very good. Crisp and moist. Service is efficient with clockwork system.
Their pork chops are kinda deliciously different with any other pork chops. A must-try place for pork chop lovers. Expect long queue during lunch time! Though it’s located on the basement level, the banner is very easy to find.
