I finally got a chance to try out Hawker Chan and it did not disappoint. For years, Hawker Chan has been known for serving delicious soya sauce chicken rice and noodles at the Chinatown Hawker Centre, attracting long lines of customers. Recently, they have opened a new air conditioned location at the corner of Smith and Eu Tong Sen Street. My family and I tried a variety of dishes and they were all excellent. I highl... What John Chiew doesn't like about Hawker Chan (chinatown) Islandwide Delivery:
I visited and ate at Hawker Chan knowing that it no longer had a Michelin one-star. The food was ok and it was on my list of places to visit. I had two dishes. One chicken the other pork belly. The chicken I would give 4 stars and the pork belly 3. The pork belly was not cooked properly and the texture was strange. If you are a visiting it is worth the trip if you are intrigued by its history and if you are already p... View all feedback.
The soya chicken was yumyum.. most importantly the price is affordable. I like their Charsiew the most.. The location was very remote.. if ure driving a car, you can park at block 335 Smith Street.. multistorey parking.. $1.20 for half an hour.. slightly expensive because crowd area...
I beg to differ if any say this overrated, as to be very frank hawker Chan has some of the best roasted dishes in singapore. $8.50 for half soya sauced chicken which was delightfully tender and a sweet savoury sauce. As for the pork ribs, it was my first time trying, was taken away by the coating of its sauce and how it impaired onto the meat.
This place has BY FAR the best roast pork I've ever tasted! The roast chicken pork ribs were also really good. The only complaint I have would be that the chili can be a bit spicier, but otherwise highly recommended!
Their famous soy sauce chicken dishes are not very consistent. The chicken in the cheap rice/noodle combo dish is dry and overcooked, while the meat in standalone bbq combination dish is fresh and super tender. Other dishes like soup and vegetables are all spot on. Overall quite satisfied. But I wouldn’t say it’s better than my local Chinese bbq shop.
Famous Michelin One Star Soy Sauce Chicken Rice Shop. How can i miss this dishes...The chicken and Char Siu was really good, but their rice is just white rice, nothing fancy. Overall, it's still a decent meal.
