I've eaten here a couple times, a few mains are avaliable such as classic portugese food, some German dishes and a couple others. These change regularly. Would recommend.
What a great little cafe, run by a lovely German couple. The dishes of the day are freshly cooked and exceptionally tasty! (I had Goulash and chips! Yummy. Good hearty fayer..
Tasca Ewa is a cafe/restaurant situated in the village of Garvao near Ourique in the Southern Alentejo. It has just recently been taken over by new proprietors Walter and Eveline who have completely renovated the interior and introduced a brand new menu featuring excellent freshly prepared and home cooked dishes. There is a fantastic fixed price lunch menu, featuring a main course (which changes every day), drink, dessert and coffee for only €7,50. The main menu, served all day, includes something for everyone, including meat, fish dishes, salads and several vegetarian options. We tried the Panados do Porco com Molho Bolognese, gratinado com Queijo Mozzarella – a pork schnitzel with bolognese sauce, covered with melted mozzarella which came with several different salads and sautéed rosemary potatoes all really good and very tasty. There are various appetizers which can be ordered separately or combined into a small or large tapas plate, and a choice of home made desserts. All the food is freshly prepared and cooked in house. Walter and Eveline are a lovely friendly couple who speak excellent English, Portuguese and German. There is easy parking right outside and the café is well frequented by locals and visitors from further afield. We will be returning regularly, and I would really recommend a visit.
The couple who run this are amazing. Speaking German (for that is what they are) English and of course Portuguese. Their cuisine is a cross between German and Portuguese and absolutely delicious. Great fun hosts. I had a lovely goulash.
