He made the best food I have had in... read more The outside is drab and this place looks more like a 1970's truckers stop than anything else. However the chef is a genius. He made the best food I have had in our six month trip around Europe. It ranks as one of my best meals of all time. And it wasn't even expensive!

The Monte Leone Hotel restaurant at the Simplon Pass is where most, if not all, tourist coaches stop to allow passengers to have a break before the onward journ... read more The Monte Leone Hotel restaurant at the Simplon Pass is where most, if not all, tourist coaches stop to allow passengers to have a break before the onward journey to Switzerland.As expected hot drinks are expensive in this restaurant. We paid €8 for 2 medium cups of tea which were served in plastic cups! We didn’t eat any food so can’t comment on that.There are toilet facilities which at the time of our visit were clean and had paper towels, soap etc. The views from outside the restaurant are stunning and our coach stopped here for 30 minutes so we had plenty of time to take photos and admire the scenery.Enjoy
