Pickle Barrel - Silverton
Pickle Barrel
Description
Nestled in a bustling tourist town, this historic spot delivers consistently excellent comfort food—standout Reubens, a mushroom burger and indulgent desserts—backed by exceptionally attentive, child-friendly service. The dining room is character-filled and lively, making it a favorite for hikers, families and visitors, though seating can be cramped, chairs uncomfortable and prices a bit high. Overall, dependable, flavorful meals in a welcoming atmosphere.

I stopped by for a light lunch and was greeted by a wonderfully welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed the toasted ravioli salad, which featured their homemade vinaigrette – it was perfectly balanced!
It was decent, considering it's a tourist town. The salad was satisfactory, but it was served on a plate that was much too small, causing the food to spill over the sides. As for the mushroom burger, it was...
The service was outstanding—one of the best experiences we've had in a long time. They provided our child with crayons and a menu right away, allowing us time to review our options. The waitstaff worked together seamlessly, ensuring we always had what we needed, including refills on our drinks, all with a friendly demeanor. Thank you! We also appreciated the historical ambiance of the building and the town. Our Reuben sandwiches were delicious. Although $27 for a sandwich, sweet potato fries, and a soda is on the pricey side, it was worth it after a day of hiking the Ice Lakes Trail.
