We were staying at Caprock State Park and decided to have dinner here one evening. It's a charming little restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices.
Hooties just opened its doors this week after being taken over by Hootie’s niece, who named the restaurant in honor of her uncle. The place has been beautifully remodeled. At our table, we ordered a variety of dishes: street tacos, a burger, enchiladas, and chicken fried chicken, which I chose. Everyone except the one who had the enchiladas was thrilled with their meal. My husband thought the enchiladas were just okay. However, my chicken fried chicken was absolutely delicious! I was served a generous piece of chicken breast that was cooked to perfection—juicy and neither overcooked nor undercooked. The breading was crispy and topped with a flavorful gravy. If you find yourself in Silverton and feeling hungry, be sure not to overlook this hidden gem. You won’t find anything better nearby!
I stopped by for a much-needed lunch on my way to Oklahoma City. The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. It's a true gem that captures the charm of a small town. Thank you!
Stopped in today after camping at Caprock Canyon. Hate to rate a small town restaurant so low but the Mexican street tacos /rice and beans were terrible. The asada meat tasted old with a very disgusting flavor. Rice and beans were so salty I only ate a couple of bites and you could tell the beans were old. Other customers seemed to be ordering the special, chicken fried steak and looked like they were enjoying it. Their other items on the menu may be good but what I ordered was probably the worst Mexican food I've ever tried to eat and I am far from being a picky eater. Hope they improve, there's not much in Silverton and I know the locals appreciate the restaurant.
