A beautiful small gem located in what seems like the heart of a beautiful city ! Food was so good. It?s pricey, but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! top tier quality service, speedy service, and they are typically always busy it seems! Also a great date nightidea, they have a dish that is a flaming heart that is sushi rolls plated in the shape of a heart and actually have fire aroundthem. So cool.
I have both ordered rolls for takeout and had some rolls for dine in dinner in the past and decided to stop in for a solo lunch. Not a large place but busy, especially with to-go orders. The bento box( pictured) came with plenty of food. Loved the tempuraon the vegetables and prawns as it was not too much and unlike other location i did not need to peel half of it off. Thevegetable dumplings were standard. Do note that they usually come fried but I requested to have them steamed. The icing on thecake was the bonus chicken and onion teriyaki skewer. For both visits I would say my reason for 3( would be 3.5 if I could) isthat they put too much mayonaise in the rolls. The California roll as you can see had some as well, which from my pastexperiences isnt standard.
The service was extremely slow. They were too busy filling takeout orders to tend to the tables in the establishment. I waited over half an hour for my ramen, the table next to me waited over a full hour. Not once did anyone stop by my table to ask howthe food was, refill my drink, or apologize for the long delay. When I did receive my ramen, it contained large chunks ofovercooked, bland pork instead of the typical thinly shaved pork belly. One piece was particularly off-putting and full of toughconnective tissue.
Great place. We loved the sushi and rolls. Very different from the usual California, Dynamite etc etc. We ordered from what they said was popular and were not disappointed. Restaurant is small with ok ok ambience but the great food more than makes up forit. Will visit again for sure. We were there for our daughter?s birthday dinner and my daughter enjoyed the sushi and rolls.
I recently tried the best vegan sushi in the DC area at this restaurant... and possibly the best I've ever had! They offer a separate vegetarian menu and our waiter made sure to veganize everything we ordered (mainly by removing mayo). The food was delicious, service was quick, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I can't wait to go back again!
