Yesterday, I ordered a Kurt over the phone and specifically requested that they include everything needed for dining in, such as awaze and enjera. When I arrived about 30 minutes later, my order wasn't ready, but I didn't complain. I asked the server if there was any awaze, and she said no, so I had to ask for it. Once I got home, I realized there was no enjera included, which meant I had to throw away the meat. To make matters worse, they charged me $15 for the meal, while other places offer it for $10 without awaze and enjera. This is simply dishonest.

The staff frequen... read more I have repeatedly encountered poor service at Sheger Spring Cafe. This isn’t an isolated incident but a consistent problem during every visit. The staff frequently has difficulty following instructions, which causes frustration with my orders. To improve, the restaurant should seriously consider reassessing their team.

I ordered 1 order of veggie combo and 1 order of Ethiopian injera. Both orders are found separately on the menu. When I picked up my order, I asked where the Ethiopian injera was. I was told they used it to make the firfir which is part veggie combo I bought. I told them the DoorDash that shows the injera order separate cause I wanted it separate. I was told I should have made that comment. Why do I need to make that comment when the veggie combo and the injera are separate orders? It does not make sense. I said ok and despite being charged for something I did not ask them to do, I asked if I could just purchase the injera then they told me no it’s only for internal use for the food made. We ate here as a family, party of 9. It was my fathers first time eating Ethiopian food. This was by far THE BEST ETHIOPIAN food we have had in the DMV! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with amazing service, accommodated for our large party and assisting my father with handicapped access. They served us delicious homemade chips and the food was mouth watering. We ordered two larger platters and every bite was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Very fresh food and my dad was very impressed with his experience. We topped off our meal with yummy desserts! We will be back soon, I highly recommend eating here.
