**Discovering Ethiopian Delight at BluNile**
BluNile, a charming restaurant in Silver Spring, offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for every dining occasion, from business lunches to casual dinners. Guests rave about the authentic Ethiopian dishes, highlighting the expertly prepared sambosa and chicken tibs. While some diners appreciate the unique approach to serving, with traditional spreads atop teff bread, others noted a departure from classic Ethiopian customs. Service can be slow, but the warm environment and generous portions often make up for it. With reasonable prices and a culinary reputation that rivals downtown D.C., BluNile stands out as a must-visit dining destination.

Quality Ethiopian Cuisine that one would suspect you would find in downtown DC. Very intimate and down to earth atmosphere. Great for a business lunch, casual dinner, or fun date. Very reasonable prices, excellent food, and very worth the price. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Paige Waters dislikes about Abol Ethiopian Cuisine:
Cute place and food tastes great. Too bad they depart from Ethiopian tradition and serve food in Western style bowls. Also injera was cold. Also, took more than half hour after giving our order to get served and they forgot to give us the side dishes that come wth the order. The place was not crowded So no excuse for poor service. While the waitstaff could be a bit more attentive, they were friendly and very accommodating once approached. The food was authentic, fresh, and reasonably priced by D.C. standards. I chose to sit outside, which did mean dealing with some traffic noise, but it was sometimes quiet too. Overall, it was a solid experience.
I had a wonderful experience at Abol Ethiopia restaurant. We shared a veggie platter and kitfo (raw minced meat), and both were delicious. I also tried a glass of Tej (honey wine), which was fantastic. While the service was a bit slow, making it less ideal for those in a rush, I would definitely recommend this place.
The best Ethiopian restaurant I've heard and it comes from a genuine Ethiopian. I remember the favors and spices from home at home and the food in Abol brings me back again and again. The New Manger is really nice and welcoming, it makes everyone feel like their part of a family. The restaurant gives a homely, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel very comfortable. If I ever want Ethiopian food, I know abol will never disappoint that I have been there 4 times and loves food more and more, can not express how much I highly recommend this place if you want authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Great service by the way
This was my first time eating Ethiopian food and I loved it! We ordered two combination platters, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian. I practically ate one whole platter myself. Be warned though, the restaurant doesn't initially give you silverware. You're supposed to eat the food just with the bread, which I am used to. But Ethiopian sourdough bread does take some getting used to. It's texture is spongy and it tastes a bit sour. But the curries are banging... spicy, colorful, and flavor that bursts out in your mouth.

This place is a true local treasure. If you're a fan of Ethiopian cuisine, you won't be disappointed by Abol!
A colleague whose daughter spent many years in East Africa urged us to try Abol out because, in her opinion, it was both the best and the most authentic Ethiopian food in Silver Spring. Given that there have got to be at least a dozen Ethiopian restaurants in town, that is quite an endorsement. We were NOT disappointed!
I really enjoyed the restaurant and its food. One person in our group had their first experience with Ethiopian cuisine. They weren't too fond of the injera, so they ended up using a serving spoon to finish off all the dishes, and the portions were generous! Everyone else loved what they ordered. The service was adequate until we decided to leave and asked for the check. There was only one server for the whole restaurant, and she did her best under the circumstances.

Small but intimate and gorgeous, sumptuously delicious cuisine. I just LOVE injerna! So versatile and they give you enough of it to take home!
I really do not write reviews but the overwhelming service I received from Brittany Dupree calls for an exception. Within a week, she traded my $1000 into $10,050. She went beyond to make the entire process a very stress free one, she responded to all my millions of questions and make everything very simple; She’s truly a genius.
